Outstanding Regional Chaplain

(Walter Cahoon Award)

 This award was instituted at the annual meeting held in Tampa, 2024 to recognize the outstanding Region Chaplain.    Walter has served over 25 years as a state or regional chaplain, often both the same year.  As “Dean of Chaplains,” many have benefited from Walter’s wisdom, experience, and willingness to teach, encourage, and mentor new chaplains.  This award is sponsored by the Maine JCI Senate on behalf of the Region I to honor Walter’s service, and to serve as an aspiration to all senators who fulfill the role of regional chaplain and to commit the time and efforts required to meet the spiritual needs of our organization.
