List of Senate Organizations Formation

By Michael Sawyer #36403

At the annual meeting in Rochester (2015), Randy Young #46420 wanted to know what country was the first to have a Senate organization. Not knowing the answer, I consulted Earl Sawyer #28243 who provided me with the answer but also learned that there is not a list of Senate formation dates. Hence, began the quest to locate these dates by emailing anyone and everyone that might know. After several months of communicating, this is the list that has been compiled. Many thanks to Peter Browning #49104, Peter Bakos #32786, Chris Read #50529, Russ Cooper #4638 and Earl Sawyer #28243 for their help as well as the individuals, which were many, who provided me with the necessary information. For the first time, this listed is being published. US was the 19th country to form the Senate organization. We have no information on the following countries: Guatemala, Jamaica, St. Maarten, Surinam, India, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, and Thailand.
